I’m not a fan of the sun. It’s heat on my skin is dreadful… I am dark enough as I am. But I like how it shines. It intimidates every other light when it shines, because really, none equals it. They can only wish!
That is why I am so excited that Sim ofSim’s Jollies and Jaunts thought to nominate me for this award. It’s really amazing because Sim does shine. Her writing is like the shine of the sun illuminating the darkest parts of your heart. It’s amazing, I tell you! Thank you so much, Sim, for nominating me. May your light never dim!
Like every other blog award, this one comes with rules too. Rule one is one paragraph above us. So I’m moving to the next. At this point, I’m supposed to answer 11 questions that Sim asked. Q1: Other bloggers that inspire me are Naijasinglegirl and Dairy of a Naija girl. But I’m lying, they are over 20. Q2: I started blogging becauseI wanted to talk my mind without fear. Like I did about my father in this post. Q3: My favorite cartoon as a kid will have to be all of Disney animations. I like the realness that their animation possess. Q4: As a kid, I said I was going to be a nurse (so I would fall in love with a handsome patient), then I wanted to be an actress (because Genevieve fascinated me), and then I wanted to just sing. I still haven’t made up my mind. Q5: The most rewarding thing for me, as far as blogging is concerned, is the fact that I get to be heard, and freely too. So I would say freedom. That’s the most rewarding thing for me as a blogger. Q6: The 2018 movie I can’t wait to see? Is Pitch Perfect 3 out already? Or is it a 2017 movie? 🤔 Q7: If I have to choose between reading a book or seeing a movie, I’d probably just see a movie. At least the movie is already pictures I’ll be looking at, not words that I have to picture myself 🙄. Q8: If I say I’m a personal lifestyle blogger, am I wrong? Notice that lifestyle is in italics? It means I’m not even sure I’m a lifestyle blogger, but I’m sure of the personal. I think I’m nicheless! So I never really ‘chose‘ a blog niche. Q9: The best gift I’ve ever received? If you read this post, then you know about Larry. One time, he forgot my birthday and only remembered in the evening. I’d always wanted a guitar so he bought his friend’s and brought it to me. Poor him, it was one of those times we were not together and when he brought it, I was on a date with someone I’d just met. Q10: I do not have a regular blog schedule. So coming up with blog posts is very spontaneous. I never plan either. My blog posts are based on the present. Q11: The most embarrassing moment of my life? Oh my world, I’ve been embarrassed too many times, or so I think, because I can’t remember even one right now. I’ll do a post about it when I do remember.
I want to nominate the following bloggers for the award:
3) Spoken voiceless
4) Bella Usen
5) Living in 9ja
8) The Red Confidential
9) Diary of a 20 Something
10) Humble Perceptions
11) Dattaragurl (even though she probably won’t see this).
Even though I’m only allowed to nominate 11, let me quickly add Naijasinglegirl and Diaryofanaijagirl here. These blogs kill me many times every day!
The rules of the award are simple. Write a blog post where you mention and appreciate the one that nominates you and link them to the post, answer the 11 questions asked by them and then nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 questions of your own.
Permit me to ask only one question: Have you ever contemplated quitting blogging? If yes, how many times?
